STEAM: why is Steam doing this to me?

So I downloaded steam, made my username my real name, and downloaded team fortress 2. I then realized that the username I picked was my online game name, so I switched the contact email and made a brand new account with the same email I used for the last account, because that's my primary email. Anyway, I launched team fortress 2, went into a game, and it displayed my name to be my real name!!! Even though on my account it shows the new account I created. How to change this so t displays that username? Thank you! I didn't change just my display name for forums and such, I made an entire new account. And I even reinstalled tf2, no luck. Thanks everyone!
