How soon after giving birth can Gestational Diabetes go away?
It really all depends. Sometimes it goes away right after you give birth, and other times it can take a few weeks. I had Gestational Diabetes and everything went back to normal about 1-2 weeks after I had my Daughter. I had to take insulin (only at night) while I was pregnant because my morning sugars were high. Your doctor will monitor you after you have the baby to make sure everything goes back to normal. Don’t worry your body will not be dependent on it. Gestational Diabetes is just due to being pregnant and your hormones can cause things to go out of whack. After the baby is born, things go back to normal, but sometimes just take awhile. Good Luck and Congrats on your impending Little one!!
