This one is for the Dieticians; Why are the corn syrup commercial allowed to air blatant lies on TV ads?
Correct me if I'm wong, high fructose corn syrup (hfsc) is a processed, more simple or broken down form of sugar compared to cane sugar. The simpler the sugar the faster it enters the blood stream, consuequently demanding a faster spike of insulin production by the pancreas and is also used up faster causing excess insulin in the blood stream resulting on excess sugar cravings. Bottom line is, more complex sugars are better for the body esp. the pancreas. The ads claim "your body does'nt know the difference; sugar is sugar" Once in the blood stream the body doesnt know the difference between different types of sugars but the variable is how fast they enter the blood stream, which vastly effects body systems. It is my opinion that use of (hfcs) is to blame for the high rate of diabetes in America. Does science back this and if so, why are the corn syrup people allowed to blatantly mislead the American people about which foods they should choose?
